HIFU Prostate Services Announces Treatment of 1,000th Patient with HIFU, a Non-Invasive Prostate Cancer TreatmentOctober 19, 2018 12:00 pm
HIFU, cleared by the FDA for prostate tissue ablation in October 2015, is a non-invasive treatment that uses sound waves to heat and destroy tissue in the prostate, including cancerous tissue. It is a one-time, outpatient procedure that allows men to return to their normal lifestyle within a few days.
This month a major milestone was announced by HIFU Prostate Services (HPS) with the treatment of their 1,000th patient with their partner physicians. HIFU Prostate Services offers HIFU in over 30 hospitals and surgery centers throughout the US, including the surgical center I perform my HIFU cases in Los Alamitos, CA.
I’m pleased to have played an extremely important role in helping HPS achieve this remarkable milestone of treating 1,000 patients with HIFU. As an early adopter of this technology, it is gratifying to have helped bring HIFU to the forefront of prostate cancer treatment.
After 13 years of treating patients, I’m proud to be one of the most experienced HIFU physicians in the world. I look forward to continuing to treat patients and training other physicians to become excellent HIFU practitioners.
